Collecting Art
Buying your original painting.
To start this journey one must first view a lot of art. It helps you decide what you like and which artist you are resonating with. Also the amount of money you wish to spend on an original has a lot to do with it. You may want to collect an  artist whom is popular and  is already selling well. A lot of original collectors sometimes will purchase the smaller original to add to their collection opposed to the larger painting for more money. A lot of artists do large  and small paintings in mind for each type of collector.
I have always liked painting an original on a larger canvas. Painting with more detail  makes a better image for reproduction, for fine art prints ( a giclee' on canvas).  I believe having a original painting that has been printed  gives the original more value.  How ever an original is an original  is an original. There is nothing like an original.  I believe an original is the only thing that holds value or increases in value.  All the hoop a lah about prints holding value,  I believe it is a marketing scam.  How can 1 of 30,000 prints possibly have any value. I of 300 is more honest. Come on America get real.  Just because some one tells you 1 of 30,000 has value, don't buy into it .
I do understand when some one can not afford the original there are other options like collecting a print. You may have a decorating  situations where you need certain sizes which the fine art print ( the giclee' print on canvas). I have always had the availabilty of sizes and stretcher bar options available to my client. My qualitity has always been the finest  and is hard to tell the difference between my original paintings and canvas giclee prints on canvas.

Deciding where your prints will hang

If there is a large space, you may want to pick out a larger size. You need to scale up in size with large walls. Pick out a large size, cutting out a newspaper silhouette to match the size,  place it where the print is going.  Tape it their and check it out. If it works, great.  If you need a smaller one do the same until you are happy. I do groups of images that go together with each other. You might have one large on one wall and a smaller size on the other.
